A Travellerspoint blog

11th and 12th of September 2013

sunny 35 °C

This morning we left Fitzroy Crossing and drove to Derby. After lunch we said goodbye to nan and pop because there heading back to Perth. We soon got to Derby and we set up the caravan. We went for a drive and went to the jetty. The tide was low and we went back to the caravan park and did nothing. Later we went back to the jetty and the tide was really high. We watched the sun go down and went for a walk. We went back to the caravan park and watched a movie.

Today we went to Windjana gorge. It took along time to get there. We saw a fossil in the rocks and we saw heaps of freshwater crocodiles sitting in the water and on the sand. Mum found a goanna and got scard but it was only small. We had lunch and we saw a big willy willy and there was heaps of dust. We went back to Derby and went and saw the boab prison tree where they used to keep people because it had a hole to climb into. We went back to the caravan park and did nothing. Later we went out to see another boab tree. We collected some boab nuts and went back to the caravan park.
